Flowery Programs
Flowery provides a
unique learning experience for the whole child. Besides the core
bilingual curricula, all students participate in a PTO-funded art
program, a standards based garden science program, weekly computer
classes and library time with access to books in Spanish and English. PE
and music, including percussion, band and chorus, are also part of the
curriculum. We average 350 students in grades K-5 each year with
approximately 60 students per grade level, creating a tight-knit
community and stability for children as they move through the grades.
By providing opportunities for students to receive learning experiences tailored to their abilities, Flowery helps instill confidence and a love of learning at an early age.
We offer a range of support services to help each student achieve to his or her highest potential:
A resource specialist and speech therapist for students with specific learning needs
A school improvement program aimed at increasing the performance of every student
After school programs that provide opportunities for academic support and enrichment
Homework Club in the computer lab before school on Tuesdays-Fridays
We believe academic excellence is achieved through meaningful instruction, maintaining a safe and secure learning environment, attention to the social and emotional development of our students and ongoing support from home.
Academic
growth is measured in multiple ways. Some indicators used to gauge
student success include motivation, age-appropriate school habits,
fulfillment of assignments, ability to work cooperatively and
independently as well as performance on class assessments and district
benchmarks. Additionally, standardized tests in English and Spanish are
administered annually in grades 2-5.
Flowery alumni transition well into Adele Harrison Middle School following their elementary experience, and the middle school dual immersion students outperform their peers in state testing.
